Pierceton is located at 41°11′59″N, 85°42′24″W (41.199617, -85.706733)GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.4 km² (0.9 mi²), all land. As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 695 people, 260 households, and 187 families residing in the town. The population density was 291.7/km² (759.3/mi²). There were 272 housing units at an average density of 114.2/km² (297.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 94.68% White, 1.15% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.29% Asian, 0.14% Pacific Islander, 2.45% from other races, and 1.15% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.47% of the population. There were 260 households out of which 37.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.5% were married couples living together, 15.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.7% were non-families. 24.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.16. In the town the population was spread out with 31.9% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 29.4% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 95.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.7 males. The median income for a household in the town was $37,188, and the median income for a family was $42,361. Males had a median income of $30,682 versus $22,000 for females. The per capita income for the town was $14,436. About 9.4% of families and 11.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 15.3% of those under age 18 and 11.8% of those age 65 or over. - M..."
